Yesterday the news paper Estrategia highlighted the secrets of 10 successful chilean companies.

Gled is in this selection and the Commercial Manager, Pablo Valencia, talked about the evolution of Gled and the origin of the company.

Valencia said the idea for the augmented reality software they created was born when the founders where taking a course in the Santa María University, in Valparaíso.

After that, they founded Gled, which went on to won the Emprendedores.net competition, competition that was organized by Microsoft and the 3IE Institute.

Pablo also spoke about the trip to Berkeley, San Francisco that the founders are making to compete in the Intel+Berkeley Technology Entrepreneurship Challenge in this week.

Continental monarchs is how we were called by Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María when we were announced as the first plaze winners of Intel Challenge Latinamerica. Now we represent Chile in the important technology contest that takes place in California with our innovative augmented reality software platform Iveo.

This recognition is given because it is the first time that a chilean company obtains the first place in the competition. Now Gled will participate in the “Intel®+UC Berkeley Technology Entrepreneurship Challenge” (IBTEC) that will take place in the Haas Business School (Berkeley, California) from November 16th to November 18th.

To this is added a Juan Pablo León, one of the company founders, declaration that indicates the pride we feel for having been worthy of the first plaze received in the competition.

During yesterday afternoon the staff of Intel Challenge Latinamerica revealed the winners of the contest and the first plaze went for Gled.

This way, Gled qualifies in a comfortable way to the Intel®+UC Berkeley Technology Entrepreneurship Challenge (IBTEC). The contest will start in November and will take place in University of California, Berkeley in USA. Four Gled team members will travel to show our work and proyects with augmented reality.

The remaining winner teams were Sistemas Oscomp from Dominican Republic and Unima from Mexico, who obtained the second and third places respectively.

IBTEC is a global competition of technological business plans where some of the best entrepreneurs and proyects in the world converge.

Aníbal Valencia en Madrid

Our CEO, Aníbal Valencia made an important tour in Europe, this time he traveled Madrid and Milan to hold meetings with several advertising agencies.

In this trip, concretated by ProChile, Valencia assisted to the Madrid’s SIMO fair to observe augmented reality companies and to hold a meeting with Secartys. This company dedicates itself to help spanish enterprises in their internationalization process.

In his next stop in Milan, Gled’s CEO reunited himself with Italy’s ProChile staff. There he was shown the italian market mechanisms, focusing in the way how they do business, specifically in the IT sector, where Chile haven’t yet ventured.

Aníbal Valencia highlighted on this tour the interesting chance to deepen his knowlegde of other markets and analize ways to prospect them.
